She holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry graduating from University of Barcelona (1994) and Ph.d. in Biochemistry, also from University of Barcelona (2002). She is currently a researcher in the public health research center Gonçalo Moniz (CPqGM/FIOCRUZ/Ba) and fellow of CNPq. 2 level productivity. She is also a permanent professor of the post-graduation program in Biotechnology and Medicine Research at CPqGM. She has experience in the field of molecular and cellular biology, with an emphasis on Molecular Oncology, working mainly in cutaneous lymphomas with emphasis on T Cell Leukaemia/Lymphoma in adults, and in diseases associated with HTLV-1 in childhood. She also coordinates projects that aim to promote health care in rural communities and disseminate clinical and social aspects related to infection by HTLV-1.
