Graduada em Biomedicina pela Escola Paulista de Medicina (UNIFESP). Fez Mestrado e Doutorado em Imunologia pela USP e possui pós-doutorado realizado na CSU-Fort Coliins-Colorado-EUA. Atualmente, é Pesquisadora Titular do Centro de Pesquisa Gonçalo Moniz -FIOCRUZ-BA e Professora Adjunta da UFBA. Tem experiência na área de Imunologia, com ênfase em Imunoparasitologia, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: vacinas contra leishmaniose e imunorregulação na leishmnaniose humana e experimental. Pesquisadora 1B do CNPq.
