Raymundo Paraná
Possui graduação em Medicina pela Universidade Federal da Bahia (1983), Mestrado em Medicina e Saúde pela Universidade Federal da Bahia (1992) e Doutorado em Medicina e Saúde pela Universidade Federal da Bahia (1997). Atualmente é Professor Associado da Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade Federal da Bahia, médico assessor da Câmara Técnica em Hepatites Virais - Secretaria de Saúde do Estado da Bahia e do Ministério da Saúde do Brasil. Atualmente chefe do serviço de Gastro-Hepatologia do Hospital Universitário Professor Edgard Santos da Universidade Federal da Bahia (UFBA). Coordena o programa de educação médica continuada em Hepatologia "Hepatologia do Milênio" e o Grupo de Estudos em Hepatites Virais envolvendo os centros de referência em Hepatologia de Salvador-BA, Rio Branco-AC, Cruzeiro do Sul-AC, Porto Velho-RO. É membro da Sociedade Brasileira de Hepatologia, Associação Americana para o estudo do Fígado (AASLD), Associação Européia para o Estudo do Fígado (EASL) e Associação Latino-Americana para o Estudo do Fígado (ALEH). Tem experiência na área de Medicina, com ênfase em Hepatologia, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: hepatite C/B/B, tratamento das hepatites virais, Imunologia das Hepatites virais, Biologia molecular das hepatites virais. Pesquisador 2 do CNPq.
