Ricardo Khouri Cunha
Dr. Ricardo Khouri começou a fazer pesquisa na Fiocruz em 2001 como iniciação científica e graduou-se em Biologia pela Universidade Católica de Salvador em 2003. Em 2009, obteve o título de doutor em Patologia Experimental Humana pela FIOCRUZ/Universidade Federal da Bahia. De outubro de 2006 a janeiro de 2014, desenvolveu projetos de pesquisas no laboratório de Virologia Clínica e Epidemiologia do Rega Institute for Medical Research, na Universidade Católica de Leuven (Katholieke Univesiteit Leuven) com a Dra. Anne-Mieke Vandamme, avaliando a imunoativação e progressão da doença em pacientes infectados com retrovírus humano (HIV e HTLV). Atualmente, dedica-se à pesquisa no laboratório integrado de Imunorregulação e Microbiologia (CPqGM/FIOCRUZ - Dr. Manoel Barral Netto) e estuda os mecanismos imunológicos iniciais durante a infecção por Leishmania ssp. e retrovirus. Tem experiência na área de imunologia celular, omicas e mineração de dados. Possui 13 artigos completos publicados em periódicos nos últimos anos. Atualmente, é professor permanente do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Ciências da Saúde (UFBA) e do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Patologia Humana (UFBA/FIOCRUZ).
