She is a researcher at Oswaldo Cruz Foundation – Gonçalo Moniz Researches Center, Associate Professor and Coordinator of the Immunopathology program in the School of Medicine at Federal University of Bahia. She collaborates as a Tutor of Medical Residency in Otorhinolaryngology at Santa Casa de Misericórdia da Bahia. She holds an undergraduate degree in Medicine from the Federal University of Bahia (1999), with a major in Otorhinolaryngology at Santa Casa de Misericóridia da Bahia.  She holds a Master (2005) and MD (2009) in Pathology from Federal University of Bahia/ Gonçalo Moniz Researches Center – FIOCRUZ, and in 2011 she concluded her post-doctorate at Fiocruz-Bahia. Her experience is in the field of Medicine, with emphasis on immunopathology and otorhinolaryngology, mainly in the following themes: immunopathogenesis and diagnostic of vector-borne diseases (Leishmania and arbovirus).
