Doctor (Federal University of Bahia; 1977) with a Doctorate in Human Pathology from the Federal University of Bahia (1988). She is currently the researcher holder of the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation and Professor at the Federal University of Bahia. She has experience in the field of Parasitology, with an emphasis in Human Parasitic Protozoology principally on the following subjects: Leishmaniasis, Leishmania and Applied Immunology.
