She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences from the Catholic University of Salvador (2001), a Master's Degree in Immunology from the Federal University of Bahia (2004) and a PhD. in Immunology from the Federal University of Bahia (2006).She completed her post-doc in Pathobiology at the University of Pennsylvania (UPENN) (2009). She has experience in the field of Immunology, with an emphasis on cellular immunology, working mainly on the following themes: recombinant Leishmania antigens, cellular and humoral immune response, cutaneous leishmaniasis, mucous leishmaniasis and visceral leishmaniasis and studies in innate immune response (Natural Killer cells) and leprosy. She is currently an Immunology Service Associate Researcher at the Federal University of Bahia and Permanent Faculty member of the Post-graduate Program in Health Sciences (Faculty of Medicine/UFBA) and the Post-graduate program in Immunology (PPGIm/UFBA).
